He has successfully designed and implemented customized risk managements programs for professional and amateur sports teams, leagues and organizations, venues, stadiums, arenas, theme parks, sporting goods manufacturers, athletic and fitness facilities, and special event organizations. Additionally, he oversees the industry database for benchmarking analysis and is charged with the identification of industry best practices, business risk need analysis, risk financing strategies, safety and risk control analysis, claims management, contractual analysis, and development of relationships with centers of influence.

Gregory is a partner in the law firm of Love & Norris, which is a nationwide practice dealing exclusively with matters involving child sexual abuse for 25 years. His legal practice involves design and implementation of safety systems for all types of child-serving organizations, expert witness services, crisis management and response. He is well-versed in legislative efforts and compliance. Greg also is the co-founder and director of Abuse Prevention Systems, which provides consultation and online resources. He is one of the architects of the Safe Sport program and is one of the country’s leading experts.

Jim is the chief operating officer and vice president of product and operations for Safety Tag, which provides coaches, leagues, and parents a platform designed to improve player safety dramatically by optimizing communications regarding injuries and illnesses.

Charles Paul Boornazian, CPCU, ARM, AIS, AAi, ACI, ASLI, ARe | VP, Risk Alternatives, IOA

Charles is IOA’s national captive practice leader and is responsible for the evaluation, development, marketing, and negotiating of risk financing programs for loss sensitive clients, including captives, retrospective rating, workers compensation deductible and third-party deductible/SIR plans. He is a 32-year veteran of the industry and has in-depth knowledge of alternative markets and alternative funding programs. Charles also handles loss forecasting, collateral administration, drafting agreements for sold programs, structuring collateral alternatives (with various instruments), procuring and ceding reinsurance alternatives, review of financial statements and overall account management.
