LONGFOOD, Fla. (June 1, 2020) – Insurance Office of America (IOA) has promoted Steve Thompson to the newly created position of senior vice president of enterprise initiatives. Steve joined IOA in 2017 as a managing partner over its program division.
“Since Steve joined IOA, we have felt his impact in a wide variety of areas beyond our program division,” said IOA President Jeff Lagos. “His promotion is reflective of the depth of his contribution to-date and what we know we will see from him in the future.”
The depth of Steve’s work in the organization had grown far beyond programs in a short period, and this new role fits his skill set perfectly. His oversight includes carrier relations, data, international capabilities, MGAs, and programs, all vital to the future of IOA.
“With Steve’s leadership, we are confident in our continued ability to serve our clients well, to grow in the marketplace, and to position IOA for even greater success in the insurance industry,” said IOA Chairman and CEO Heath Ritenour.
Prior to joining IOA, Steve served as partnerships, programs, and alliances executive at The Hartford, having growing roles over the course of his 20 years with the company. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rhode Island College.
