William (Bill) Lohman grew up as a cowboy in South Dakota. He moved to California along with his high school sweet heart and wife, Sherry. After working for a painting contractor for a couple years, in 1969 he decided to get into the insurance industry. Bill started Lohman Insurance in 1973 which became today’s Legends Environmental Insurance Services; recently becoming a division of Insurance Office of America.
Legends, which specializes in environmental insurance, is recognized as an expert in commercial, pollution, and professional liability insurance, with a forte for environmental coverage. Legends caters to a national client demographic. As the principal, Bill utilizes his strengths in risk management and commercial insurance to provide competitive services in this niche market.
Legends currently offers programs for environmental contractors and consultants, site pollution, property transfer, landfill operations, remediation cost cap, recycling facilities, waste transporters and much more. Bill negotiates with insurance carriers in regard to contracts, handles troubleshooting and underwriting, and maintains his client portfolio. With more than four decades of experience, he serves as an expert resource and mentor to young professionals in the company.
Bill is a member of the Restoration Industry Association, the Indoor Air Quality Association, and the Environmental Information Association. He actively supports the American Council for Accredited Certification and their accreditation program.
Outside of insurance, Bill was part of the inaugural Freedom Bowl committee and served on the board of directors for the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce. He was chairman of the Anaheim Mixer committee, and one of the original founders and chairman of the board of a national bank.
Bill is an avid cook, and recently he and his wife Sherry authored a cookbook titled: OMG Bills Cooking. They own a small business with the same name at www.Omgbillscooking.com. Bill & Sherry enjoy fishing, camping, the outdoors, cooking, and Bill loves his Oklahoma Sooners.
