IOA Community Involvement

Below is a list of the charitable organizations and the accompanying donations that IOA has worked with in the past, or is currently involved in a philanthropic endeavor.

 

List of Organizations:

3rd Platoon/ Alpha Battery/277 Field Artillery

Hundreds of dollars worth of  AT&T phone cards along with boxes full of items such as potato chips, tuna, fans, shampoo, lotion and much, much more sent to the 690 Military Police Company serving in Afghanistan.

 

American Red Cross               

IOA raises money for the American Red Cross Tsunami Fund. Also donates $7,280.00 for the victims of Hurricane Rita.

Anthony House                        

IOA provides backpacks and school supplies for the children at this homeless shelter. Each year for Halloween IOA invites the Anthony House toddlers and pre-school children to Trick-or Treat at IOA.

Children’s Home Society

Donations of Bears and Blankets given to the Crisis Nursery during the Holiday Season.

Christian Sharing Center                      

Food Drives held at various times for Christian Sharing Center. One of the largest drives was held for recent hurricane victims. We also donate a variety of clothing and miscellaneous items, such as Payless shoe cards so that children can receive new shoes for Christmas. Dozens of turkeys donated for Thanksgiving dinner.

Coat Brigade of Volusia County

Coats and sweaters donated to those in need during the holiday season.

 

Devereux Florida Family Support Visitation Center

Devereux is the largest non-profit provider of mental health and developmental disabilities services for children in the state. IOA answers holiday wishes for hundreds of children who come to the Devereux  Family visitation center.

Florida Blood Centers             

IOA family members roll up their sleeves and give the greatest gift that they can give, the Gift of Life at the IOA quarterly Blood Drives.

Florida Hospital

Patients at Florida Hospital Altamonte have access to newly expanded, state-of-the-art surgical suites, thanks in part to a $1 million gift from IOA (the donation was the first gift made by The IOA Foundation, Inc. in May, 2007).

 

Harvest Time International

A month-long food drive benefiting Seminole County residents.

The Hope Church of Orlando

IOA Corporate 5k                  

IOA is the title sponsor for this event which is held annually in Downtown, Orlando.  A portion of the proceeds from the event go towards the Downtown YMCA.

Kappa Delta Sorority Chapters

IOA collects Halloween costumes for the children in Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas who have been affected by the hurricanes.

Maitland Health Care               

The IOA Easter Bunny delivers hugs and Easter baskets to the guests at this nursing home.

 

Make a Wish Foundation & Children’s Cancer Foundations

IOA teams up with IOA Properties for an event at Longwood Village to raise money for these two organizations. The event is held in honor of seven-year-old Meghan Joyce who passed away in 2005 from cancer. Over $7,000.00 is raised for the event.

Nathaniel’s Hope – Make ‘m Smile!

IOA gives a grand smile with a $1,000 sponsorship donation for Nathaniel’s Hope annual Make ‘m Smile event at Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando. The event focuses on VIP Kids, who are children with special medical and physical needs.

Operation Gratitude                 

The IOA associates raise money to purchase items to be placed in Operation Gratitude Care packages. These packages are sent to the men and women serving in our Armed Forces.

Redeeming Light Center Church of Eatonville

IOA blankets the Eatonville community by filling a Shepherd’s Closet with coats and blankets.

Ronald McDonald House                    

Once a month IOA employees prepare dinner for the guests at the Ronald McDonald House.

Safehouse of Seminole             

Safehouse is a shelter for battered women and their children. IOA donates old cell phones to the shelter on a regular basis. These phones are then distributed to Safehouse clients to be used solely for the 911 feature. We also conduct food and pantry drives for Safehouse.

Salvation Army            

IOA raises money for the new Beginnings Women & Children’s Shelter Campaign. Plus, continuously organizes food and clothing drives for the Salvation Army.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida

Florida is a hotbed for inclement weather. IOA donates non-perishable food items, water, Gatorade, baby food and even monetary donations to victims of hurricanes and tornadoes.

Special Olympics                                 

IOA raises money to once again sponsor a Special Olympian.

Toys for Tots

The holiday season wouldn’t be festive if the children didn’t have gifts to open. IOA associates donate lots of toys for little tots during the month of December.

Tuscawilla Nursing Home

Easter baskets stuffed with joy in the form of stuffed animals, candy, snacks and other Easter-themed items fill the hearts of residents of the Tuscawilla Nursing Home.

 

United Way

In 2005 IOA participated in the United Way Day of Sharing.  Twenty producers and employees volunteered to spend the day at Deveruax of Florida, a non-profit organization which provides services around the nation for persons with emotional, developmental and educational disabilities. The volunteers spent the day doing lawn work, painting and clean up.

University of Central Florida

IOA donates $2 million to the University of Central Florida Athletics Association (UCFAA) on behalf of The IOA Foundation, Inc. In recognition of their generosity, the UCFAA will grant the main plaza (located directly in front of Bright House Networks Stadium’s west entrance) outside the new stadium to carry the IOA name for the life of the facility.

U.S. Troops

During the year, IOA corresponds with many U.S. Troops via cards and cookies or care packages during the holidays that they would be likely to receive if they could be home with their loved ones.

Walter Reed Medical Center   

IOA actively raises money to purchase phone cards for the men and women who have been injured while serving our country, and as a result are hospitalized.

Wheatley Elementary School    

Wheatley is a Title 1 school located in Apopka. We participate in various fund raisers for Wheatley Elementary; such as purchasing new drums for the drum line; donating boxes of books for their special reading incentive program; and providing clothing and other items for the children at Wheatley Elementary.
